Stars Poker Run on Sunday, October 5, 2014 to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation of Nevada. Rick, accompanied by his son Big Hoss (Corey), will the Poker Run. Participants on motorcycles must visit five checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run.

How Does a Poker Run Work? In traditional forms of poker, players make a hand out of five cards. In Texas Hold’em, for instance, each player receives two hole cards and has to use these in conjunction with the community cards in order to make the best possible hand.Today was the poker run. It is an hour ride or so through the woods near town. You stop and draw cards to randomly form a poker hand. There were also smokies and hot chocolate along the way.Bikers, skiers, and runners will collect cards along their respective routes to form their poker hands. Prizes will be awarded to participants with the highest hands. (Participants 13 and older playing five card stud, and those 12 and younger will play Go Fish (highest pair wins, Aces are high). Costumes and traditional Alaskan garb are encouraged.
